The Vice-President for Administration and Business (VP-AB) is the principal officer providing strategic leadership, planning oversight and stewardship of the administrative resources and operations of the University to ensure effective delivery of services in support of the academic, teaching, and research activities, and achievement of the sustainability and diversity and inclusion goals of the University.  

The wide spectrum of responsibilities of the VP-AB includes (but not limited to) the planning and management of human resources, budget and finance management, facilities procurement strategies, operations and control, campus services, health and safety management, and advancing sustainability, diversity and equal opportunities, digital strategy and information technology services / systems. In this regard, the VP-AB directly oversees the operation of 9 administration and business units, namely:  

     Campus Services Office;
     Diversity and Equal Opportunities Unit;
     Finance Office;
     Health, Safety and Environment Office;
     Human Resources Office;
     Information Systems Office;
     Information Technology Services Center;
     Purchasing Office; and 
     Sustainability/Net-Zero Office.

As a key member of the University management, the VP-AB plays a key role in the development and implementation of the University’s overall strategies, policies and programs. The VP-AB also serves on a range of Council and University committees, in the capacity as chairman or as member.
